Bell's Palsy & Trigeminal Neuralgia - Rezzimax & Stimpod Rezzipes

Struggling with Bell’s Palsy, Trigeminal Neuralgia, or other forms of temporary facial paralysis? The right tools and techniques can make all the difference in your recovery. This Rezzipe will walk you through how to use the Rezzimax Tuner and Stimpod to stimulate the nervous system, reduce pain, and promote proper muscle function. By following these guided steps, you’ll learn how to activate key nerve pathways, improve circulation, and support your body's natural healing process—all from the comfort of your home. Let’s get started!

Don't forget to place your tongue between your teeth and hum gently while you use the Stimpod and Tuner, while breathing out for four times as long as you breathe in. This helps your vagus nerve to magnify the positive effects.

You should be taking a variety of vitamins such as B, D3, K2, C, and zinc to address any possible viral infections.
Start by evaluating the patient's face and identify which areas have the most significant deficit in function, usually around the eye or mouth.

Step 1:

  • Device: Stimpod NMS 460, Stimulation Probe and Cables, Ground Pad, Conductive Treatment Gel
  • mA/Hz: 4 mA/2 Hz
  • Duration: 3 Minutes for Each Location
  • Location: Face

Setting Up

Connect the green plug of the cable into the top port of the Stimpod. Next, pull out a square electrode and remove the plastic, exposing the adhesive. With the red clip attached to the metal snap on top. Stick the electrode on the back of your right or left wrist. Now press the power button to boot up the Stimpod.

You can use the button on the top left to adjust the intensity of the pulses. The button on the top right adjusts the frequency of the pulses and should be set at two Hz. You'll use the scroll wheel in the center of the device to make smaller adjustments as needed.
Pick up the stimulation probe and add a small amount of conductive treatment gel to the tip. This will improve the connection between the Stimpod and your body.

Try to blink your eyes repeatedly as we work around your eyes. You should see an improvement in synchronization. Place the tip of the probe on the medial end of the eyebrow over the superior oblique muscle. Increase the intensity on the Stimpod until you feel a pinching sensation, then reduce it until it feels like tapping. Leave it there for three minutes.

Now move the probe to the lateral side of your eye over the lateral rectus muscle for another three minutes.

To finish up around the eye, move the probe to the medial bottom side of your eye over the inferior oblique muscle for three more minutes.

As we move on to the mouth muscles, try to smile repeatedly as you use the Stimpod. You should notice an improvement in muscle function as you do. Place the tip of the probe on your maxillary nerve at the tip of your cheekbone for three minutes.
Now, slide the probe down your face and stop when you find the area that the tapping sensation is most intense. Hold it here for three more minutes.

Step 2:

  • Device: Rezzimax Tuner
  • Mode/Level: Comfortable Level
  • Duration: 7-8 Times
  • Pressure: Moderate
  • Location: Face

For Bell's Palsy, you'll use the Tuner wing to scrape down your face, focusing on areas that have a sensation of tightness. You should only need to scrape 7 to 8 times.

Trigeminal neuralgia will be the same, except you will scrape the side of your face that is opposite of the side that is experiencing symptoms. This will calibrate the signals being sent to the brain and calm the side of the face that's in distress.

Step 3:

  • Device: Rezzimax Tuner, Accessory Tongs, Disposable Glove (Optional), Food Grade Oil (Optional)
  • Mode/Level: Comfortable Level
  • Duration: 7-8 Times
  • Pressure: Moderate
  • Location: Face

Let's start by placing a disposable glove on the tongs of the Tuner to make cleanup a little easier. Applying a drop of food grade oil, such as peppermint or citrus can enhance the experience if you'd like. Grab your Rezzimax Tuner and set it to a comfortable level.

Place the tongs in your mouth so that each one is between the cheek and teeth and pushed up against the jaw muscles. Angle the Tuner up and down so that it makes a rocking motion with your hands, then open and close your mouth.

Step 4:

  • Device: Rezzimax Tuner, Accessory Tongs
  • Mode/Level: Highest Tolerable Level
  • Duration: 2 Minutes
  • Pressure: Moderate
  • Location: Nostrils and Cheekbones

Place the tips of the tongs alongside your nostrils. Keep applying pressure while you slowly open the tongs, pulling at your skin. You might feel nodules underneath your skin that give the sensation of gravel.

Step 5:

  • Device: Rezzimax Tuner, Accessory Tongs
  • Mode/Level: Lower Level
  • Duration: 30 Seconds
  • Pressure: Moderate
  • Location: Lips

Place the tips of the tongs so that they're resting on your upper and lower lips. The top should be at the base of your nose, and the bottom at the top of your chin. Make sure to keep your mouth open.

Step 6:

  • Device: Rezzimax Tuner
  • Mode/Level: Highest Tolerable Level
  • Duration: 1 Minute
  • Pressure: Moderate
  • Location: Masseter Muscle

Make sure your tongs are fully open, then use the hinge of the tongs pressed onto the masseter muscle, in front of the ear. Use your hand to pull your chin down while opening and closing your mouth repeatedly, stretching the jaw muscles. Repeat on the other side.

Step 7:

  • Device: Rezzimax Tuner, Oral Accessory
  • Mode/Level: Blue Mode or Low Level
  • Duration: 5 Minutes
  • Pressure: Light
  • Location: Mouth

Place the mouthpiece in your mouth. Bite down for five seconds, then relax your jaw for another five seconds. Continue with the biting exercise and add in some eye movement. Move your eyes around your field of vision, starting with a plus pattern followed by an X pattern. Continue for 5 minutes.
